we had such a lovely time at half moon. the staff greeted us warmly upon arrival, and throughout our two-night stay, they were all super friendly. our superior suite was spacious and full of character, and the restaurant served excellent food on saturday night. it's also perfectly located near the devon coast to coast cycle route, which was a bonus for us!

I was charmed by the lovely exposed beams in my room, which added character. The warm, inviting atmosphere throughout the Half Moon Inn made it a delightful place to relax, especially for someone seeking a comfortable stay.
More grab rails in the bathroom would be helpful.

The log stove in the bar created a welcoming atmosphere after a day outdoors. Dinner was local and home-cooked. I enjoyed a pie and crumble for dessert that made the stay memorable. The quality of the food coupled with the friendly environment made it a special experience. I appreciated having my evening meal by the fire, a nice touch for a visitor from Ireland.
The mattress in the room I stayed in felt worn on one side. I found the bathroom layout a bit awkward for showering.

Exceptional food and warm hospitality
I had a wonderful stay in a spacious Double Room that boasted charming decor and a cozy atmosphere. The food was outstanding, particularly the home-cooked meals, and the breakfast kept me fueled for the day with its generous portions. The staff were incredibly accommodating, ensuring that my dietary needs were met with great care. If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to check on the mattresses for wear as mine felt a bit uneven. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will return again.

The atmosphere was charming with a cozy seating area outside to enjoy drinks in the sun. The food served was top-notch, exceeding my expectations for a village inn.

I loved the ambience at the Half Moon Inn. The cozy pub vibe drew me in right away. My room had exposed beams and a lovely character. Felt welcoming and warm throughout my stay. The staff greeted me with genuine friendliness. I was really impressed by the dinner. The locally-sourced pie was a standout, and the crumble for dessert was delightful. I felt relaxed by the log stove during my meal. Breakfast featured a great selection, but I noticed the service was a bit slow on Sunday morning. the mattress could use a replacement. it felt worn and uneven on one side. The bathroom layout was a bit awkward for showering. Even so, the overall experience was something I would gladly repeat.

The selection of food is a standout. the menu boasts local ingredients and home-cooked options that excite your taste buds, especially the hearty pie and decadent crumble dessert. The spacious rooms offer a nice blend of character and comfort, with thoughtful touches like complimentary refreshments that enhance the experience.
Check-in happens at the bar, which can be quite noisy, making it tricky to catch the details from the staff. The beds felt a bit worn in, and the shower setup over the bath could use some design tweaks—it's cramped and the curtain can be a nuisance, especially with slippery surfaces if you don’t have a good bath mat. Breakfast on Sundays is limited to a narrow window, causing some inconvenience for late risers, and while the coffee comes from a machine, a fresh brew might have been more enjoyable for some.
